This bed is extremely sturdy, and very nice looking. I have a very small bedroom (6'x12')so it was difficult to put together in the room, definitely would be easier if you can stand on both sides of the bed. This is my first platform bed and I found it to be just a little too hard. I did not buy a new mattress for it, as I used my mattress that I had previously used with a boxspring. I bought a 3" memory foam topper and now it feels better. But just know that it is definitely much firmer than a standard bed. Also there are supports underneath the bed through the middle which limits being able to slide stuff underneath the front of the bed. This would probably only matter to someone with space issues like myself. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Our queen sized bed arrived promptly at our home as promised! I assembled it myself (a stay-at-home) mom with the help of our 2 & 4 year old without problem! The headboard had a warped spot on the top, right corner. When I contacted Mercantila, they sent out a replacement without question! Great bed, great product & a beautiful addition to our bedroom suite! It matches all of the other 'espresso' colored furniture we have purchased without a problem!

I bought this for my master bedroom. It looks great. It's a sharp, contemporary bed. Very deep brown color. Time will have to tell on the durability, but it seems like it will hold up. Headboard is not one, big, solid piece as it looks from the front, but nobody sees the back anyway. The slat system looks solid, but I wish the center support legs actually touched the floor on their own. As it is, the supports are hanging an inch or two off the floor. I'd rather they support the bed now as opposed to waiting for all the slats to start sinking down in the middle. Other than that, looks great and supports my new mattress as well as anything. Best price I could find for this bed was here.
Delivery was OK. The service they used never called me to set up a delivery time. I had to call them to check on the status, and they told me it was sitting, waiting in their warehouse. Once they brought it out, the delivery itself was great.

Beautiful bed. The only negative is that my mattress feels a bit too firm on the wooden slats, compared to how it previously felt on a box spring. But hoping I get used to it because the bed is beautiful. The quality of wood and craftsmanship far exceeded my expectations.

I got the Queen size and it's a good sized tall bed. My super duper mattress (no boxspring) makes it even higher but I like it. It reminds me of the high beds you see in the nicer hotels.

I purchased this for my 15 yr old son--he loved it. The bed is expensive looking and would do just as well in a master bedroom. I was very impressed by the quality.
Delivery was prompt--but I was one box short. This was the delivery company's fault they had left one box at the warehouse. I had to go to the warehouse and pick it up myself in order to get it in time for Christmas. They told me they would not be back in my area until the monday after Christmas.
